Long Time No Mouse Art

It's been a long time since I allowed myself to actually open up Open Canvas 1.1 and draw something without scanning it first. I miss it, somehow...

And well, since I don't have that much homework to do, I decided to draw something.

It's actually just a doodle.
lmao, I wanted to draw Yoshiya Kiryuu but it turned out to be too manly. That is surprising. Also, messy colouring style; is it good? If not, how do you get rid of it? I'm kinda sick and tired of hearing my friends say that my style is too messy. orz I kinda like it, but.

Here you go, a WIP. It's supposed to be Gadriann's OC, Sky/Mad Hatter/Cathy. (Oh man, I don't know what to call her anymore)

But she's too girly. And I forgot the eyepatch. At least it's not so desudesu pretty anymore. Hnnn.

On the other hand, my physics teacher caught me doodling in class.

Now she wants me to draw her as a punishment and it's due tomorrow.

Wish me luck. SPM Trial Exam is in 4 days.

I should be studying now.

  1. The noob that I am do not realize that comments need verification so my comment earlier was gone. Hrmph. X__X

You play twewy? Is it any good cos I think it looks almost similar to Kingdom Hearts.
Ah, just call her Sky, short and easy. I just got started on Cecil, hope to make it in time. X)

I know a shortcut in Photoshop on how to color neatly. Use lasso tool, select an area you want to color. Then use bucket and fill that area. Just like that, but I don't know if you'll like that idea but that's how I sometimes do when I used mouse.

  2. Lol. I thought you can retrieve it?

Well, I tried. :/ It uses touch screen, so I can't figure out the controls for the emulator. I watched some of the game on youtube. I'd say it's good to get some laughs- it's full of horrible jokes and puns that are so horrible it's funny. The fighting system would be different with each partner, so.
Alrighty~ I hope you don't mind if I'm a bit late with that Sky picture. orz

Uhh. I tried that too. Hated it. D: Somehow it just doesn't click well with me. Thanks though. I don't even have photoshop anymore, haha.

  3. I couldn't! I thought I posted it so I just closed the tab after I submit 'post comment' lol. XD So I lost em all. :3

lol, well it sounds fun but I don't think I'll play it though, gonna be busy for the next few months. X3

Oh I see, well, okay then. I also didn't like it but it was the fastest way to do. Wait, that means now you're just using SAI? :O

  4. Oh Gaddy! xD In blogspot, you have to click twice~ I made that mistake before too. /pats/ No biggy.

You and me both. I'm now making a compromise with my bro; he plays and I watch. lol. We're almost done with Megaman x5.

No... lol. I use the basic stuff; Open Canvas 1.1. And SAI for some tweaking on the colours. x'D

  5. Aah...so that's what OpenCanvas looks like...

Well, messy colouring isn't all that bad. There are certain types of messing colouring that I like as well.

Well, I like to use smudge tool and play with the opacity of the shadings ^^

  6. I do like the messy style because it makes your pictures stand out more! But, if you are interested in fixing it, you can try using a pen tool instead of the brush tools. And, do you use layers by any chance? If you like it though, then I don't see any need to change it XD

Oh and I have another question! How do you know when someobe left a comment or a comment reply on your blog? I have NO idea, I just used one of these yesterday and it took me 3 hours just to get the hang of it o__o

Yup, lol. I've been using it for two years~

Oh, is that so? :D Care to point me in the general direction of messy colouring you like?

Hmmn, I should try that. Thanks~

  8. @ Andres:
Why thank you, my dear Andi. <3 Yes, I do like that messy style; no wonder it won't go away! And uhh... the pen tool is my worst enemy in digital colouring. orz I'll keep the style. Yup, I use layers; one layer for the sketch/lineart and one layer for the colouring. If that's what you mean.

About that, you'll have to go to go to your Dashboard. Under your blog title, you'll see links. Click 'settings' and go to 'comments' then scroll down till you see a box labelled 'comment notification email'. Write down your email there. :D And you'll get notifications when someone replies to your blog.

No worries, I'm sure you'll get better at this. lol

  9. I find them at random on DA so I can't really pinpoint which. Sorry...but the messy ones I meant usually looks like the watercolour ones. I remember a deviant who liked that particular style but I don't remember her name T^T
